How can I opt out of chess dot come gathering and using data they have collected?

good luck I need to go to work, damn all work!

Is this now a feature? if so congratulations chess dot com, you have avoided possible litigation and a huge European fine.  Why only yesterday google got slapped with another huge fine to the tune of $5 billion!!! let me repeat that, $5 billion for allegedly monopolising their market share of search engines on android, ouch you bet that gotta hurt.

As myself and Postafi have brought this matter to your attention for your own safety we only desire a small remuneration for our services, lets say unlimited diamond membership and to be made BOSS mods above JD Cannon and David the Aussie Mod.  I am sure you will agree its a paltry price to pay for such top notch counsel and advice.

Thanks in advance - your fan Robbie.,

Actually I am more a kind of peasant farmer poet, political and media analyst specialising in Realpolitiks,  I don't really have any pressing material needs.

so how does the EU collect money?

RoobieRoo

you mean like from fines?  I dunno but plenty of momo has been paid by tax dodging multinationals and those who try to monopolise or fix prices or dodge taxes, just ask Microsoft and Intel (abused market dominance) Facebook (merger laws) and Apple (unpaid taxes).  You mess with the EU and rig the system they gonna getcha

D2-D2

But how?

D2-D2

never mind, i have to pack for a chess tournament.

RoobieRoo

ok good luck!

Yeah, I saw that.  I suspect Tim Cook has his own agenda behind his comments, but he's got a very legitimate point, too.

You play for free and you're worried about cookies? You could clear your cookies after every Internet session. I guess you could join your local chess club and not play online. I know I was not happy with what Facebook was doing, so I deleted my account.

I'm proud to say that I've never had a Facebook, Twitter etc. account. And I don't know how people are just now connecting the dots here. You sign up for a FREE platform under what assumption? The developers are just bored and want to know if they can do it? Or it's out if the kindness of their hearts? Zuckerberg made like a billion off that IPO. Where does that money come from, Farmville Bucks? lol

In fairness, I think most people believe that the money comes from selling generic ads, the same way radio and TV does, and I'm sure a lot of it does.  They should have realized that companies would want to be able to target their ads and that FB would happily sell user data to do make that happen.  It probably isn't a coincidence that when you go to google you see ads for companies you happen to frequent.

I find it scary that the Government can even think about regulating the internet.
