How Do Grandmasters Think?

Here is a game of Judit Polgar vs. Levan Pantsulaia.

It is so bizarre to me in terms of the move choices they make.  I'm wondering if someone who is knowledgeable might care to annotate it or care to comment on various moves made throughout the game?  I'm simply cannot see the purpose behind the majority of moves (which is why I am sub-1200!  hahahahhahaha).

EDIT: fixed the punctuation problems.

Hey there, defenserulz.

I was also quite curious about the game as it was judged the best game of 2011, and though I'm no GM, I managed to locate GM Sergey Shipov's annotations of the game:

Her beautiful sacrifice (11...b5!!) above set her up for a strategy that Judit used in her game against Timman in Malmo, 2000 (below). She utilized the long diagonal against an abandoned fianchettoed Bishop nest, and won.

First:  great game!

Second:  wrong game.  hahahaha Tongue Out

Still appreciate the good find though!  Laughing

No problem :)

The second game was used to clarify a strategy that Polgar utilized in the first game.

Good luck :)

Read Improving Chess Thinker.  It's mostly amateurs but there's a protocol by Max Euwe.  Kotov's Think Like a Grandmaster also opens a window into the grandmaster's mind.  How to Think in Chess is okay, but overly clinical and jargony.

Judit explaining her win against Karpov, the white king also gets caught by Judit's light-squared bishop!
