Yes, I'm playing a game on my computer right now. But how does everyone know that?

Contact Ilyumzhinov; promise him the US vote in the forthcoming FIDE presidential election; GM title is yours; inform chess.cm.

Voila.

Cappiche ?

The_Krieg

why do you want to be titled?  I defeat titled players all the time

Are there any other GMs in the forums...  just wondering if I'm alone here

We don't get too many of you folks who actually know what's going on in this game. Usually it's just us lowly patzers trying to have a laugh and help the millions of learners. I just hope I'm not giving them bad habits. Blue emu shows up quite a bit, I don't know if he ever became a master. Is it true that it really only becomes Chess once you reach 1700 FIDE?

pcwildman

Guess you are alone.

When you become a powerful chess player... show weaker players mercy like I do... it is like penance & it restores your perception of self

The_Krieg

turn away from focusing on your ratings... and even the most inane opponents will present you with challenges

The_Krieg

often when I show my opponents mercy, they will mock me and pretend that they won the games because of their skill

I merely allow them to enjoy the moment and perceived satisfaction...  I say "good game" or "gg" or "my how great your chess skills are"  They love it and I believe it encourages them to play more chess.

however, sometimes, their words and actions come across as ungrateful arrogance... that is pause for prayer and contemplation.  To turn away from who I once was...  trying to be good is very very difficult.  but for penance sake...

We need your insights and encouragements. Like I said, we don't see that many upper level players down here in the slums. There are some who offer coaching services, and there are many very strong mid level players here. I didn't mean to sound harsh, I was trying to draw you out, and it worked. And it's always lonely at the top. We are your friends. *****So, does chess become chess when you hit 1700? Seriously, we would love to hear your insights on the transition levels, and what level you really begin to start playing chess. At what level should you begin to study opening theory? How should a learner structure his studies as he or she moves through the various levels? *****I'm a beginner and pretty bad. You are one of the handful who has achieved what we can only dream of. I am honored just being able to interact with you. We stand in awe, admiration, and jealousy of you. This game brings out quite a broad range of intense emotions. Thank you for being here.

Throw in a little envy of you. 😁

There are some online site that create there own made up titles, yeah that's a good name for them made up titles that only mean anything on there individual site?? Sadly for those proud of individuals those titles are not nationally or world recognised by Fide such as F.M I.M or G.M those titles are earned the hard way over the board in Fide events and are the only titles that will ever have any real meaning!!

Agree. If you want to get a title you have to play in FIDE Competitions.

When I was a 600 I defeated master. Why do you need to be titled, Because you can embaress the titled players by not being titled and winning against them. Incase if you were wondering the game was over the board so it wont show up in my archive
