Because it quite complicated middlegame and in a 3 min blitz game you don't want to create weaknesses (the d4 pawn) for no reason. You have no time to calculate thus you want to play solid. Btw in this particular game I played first 16 moves of the opening on a very top level. That move 17 is a very-very tiny inacuracy from the engine point of view. But from the human point of view it's abosolutely fine. Especially for a 3 min blitz game.
Once again, your beginnerish brain found an tiny inacurate move from the engine point of view in the deep middlegame. That is all what you are able to do.
When you'll show me my weak Catalan? I'm still waiting. Stop finding my mistakes/blunders in my middlegames and endgames!
