How do we stop cheating in the future when we all have computers in our brains?

The only way one can be confident there is no cheating is playing against another person over the board. I feel for chess.com and other online franchises that offer online chess. I applaud them, but it is so easy to get one or two hints from an engine in the privacy of your own home during a live game and no one can prove otherwise. I'm surprised Magnus Carlsen even plays online chess seeing how paranoid he is about losing a game with his opponent playing with the Black pieces. To me online chess is nothing more than entertainment that I would never put money down on. I used to play in OTB tournaments in the 1980's and 90's and won money in several tournaments in my class. Its just too easy to cheat online.

If they can check dogs for chips they can check humans for chips. It seems like daydreaming on what could be.

I suggest reading the book "Amped", by Daniel H. Wilson. After reading that, maybe you will decide never to get a computer implant, even if they become easily available.

The post isn't about cheating, it's about the future when we have computers implanted in our brains and everybody is as smart as they want to be. Or are we? Even with databases at our command we will still have to use our cognitive facilities to implement the knowledge. We will also have to have physical skills in other areas, not necessarily chess, to use the knowledge in our brains. A surgeon would still have to practice being a surgeon. Even if he's using a machine.

Also, we are not very far from having a computer brain interface. They are doing amazing things with prosthetics and computers. Look up Hugh Herr. Definitely closer than interstellar travel, which, I agree, has never and will never take place. At least for humans.

Nothing will change. Maybe cheating will become more frequent OTB, but online it will remain the exact same. Having stockfish in your head vs having stockfish on the other tab is the same.
Why think about it now? Let's wait till our brains are augmented to come up with even better solutions and more problems to solve.

The most powerful computer is the brain.
But for how long? And you need to define powerful. Reason? Calculation? Data storage? Computers already beat us 2 out of 3.

Find me a computer that can run the human body like the human brain.
Find me a human that can fly a 747 without the help of a computer. This could go on all night. However not with me I'm off to bed.

Nerves of butter - look at Hugh Herr's work. It is more than the computer running the prosthetic. It is the interface with the nerves which allows the brain to interact with the computer to move the limb in a natural way. In the future the pilot's brain will be an integral part of the flight systems. It's Firefox all over again.
