Hello again guys, I just wanted to let you all know, there isn't a "Killer King" achievement. I no it doesn't matter, but I just decided to check.
That achievement does exist. It is just a hidden one that is awarded when it happens.
The king move delivers the checkmate and is what gives the achievement.

Searching for Bobby Fischer is one. Probably others but I don't know all of them. I would have to compare a new account with some people that have a lot.

Then you should know that you cannot checkmate with a king. You can move your king so that another piece delivers checkmate or the king can support another piece that can deliver checkmate, but the king itself can never checkmate the opponent king because it would violate the chess rule that a king cannot move into check. By checking the other king with your king, the other king would simply take yours and you would lose the game. Either way, it is an illegal and therefore impossible move.

The answer is kings cannot deliver checkmate. Like other people said, they can assist through discovered check or protecting the delivering piece, but they cannot by themselves deliver check or checkmate. Unless of course it's some variation or local rule that ignores the official rules of chess.
