I know how to make GIF's like this:

But that's from one of my daily games that are in progress.

I'm not sure how to make GIF's from a set-up position or something.

That link explained how you can do it from any PGN. So you could use an analysis board to create your position/game/game fragment and use that PGN in the gif maker.

Chess.com allows users to use animated GIFs in various ways, including as profile pictures and in forum posts. Users can upload GIFs directly to their profiles or use the site's GIF maker for creating animated chess game sequences. To use a GIF in a forum post, users can either upload it from their computer or paste the GIF's URL into the comment box.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Profile Pictures:

Chess.com supports animated GIFs for profile pictures.

Users can upload GIFs from their computer through their profile settings.

Ensure the GIF is in a common image format and meets the size requirements.

2. Forum Posts:

Users can insert GIFs into forum posts by uploading them from their computer or by using the URL.

When inserting a GIF via URL, users may need to paste it into the "External Link" box or directly into the comment box.

Sometimes, GIFs might not display immediately, and it may take a moment for them to load.

3. Creating Chess GIFs:

Chess.com offers a GIF maker where users can input a PGN (Portable Game Notation) or URL of a game.

Users can customize the board and pieces before creating the GIF.

The created GIF can then be used in forum posts or as a profile picture.

4. Tips and Troubleshooting:

If a GIF is not displaying correctly, ensure it's in a compatible format and that the URL is correct.

If the animation is too fast, it can be slowed down using external tools like .

Some users have reported issues with GIFs not showing up in forum posts, which may be a temporary glitch or require troubleshooting steps.
