How do you surrender a game?

Sort:

I don't see any option to surrender during a game. Surely there is a way. How do you do it?

I don't know since I've never had to resign.

I don't believe there is a way. I've clicked everything and looked at all options.

I just have to wait for time to run out.

well, nobody can answer this in help & support either and nobody I play against can tell me except on mobile, but I'm on the website chess.com. Seems very silly not to have a way to resign.

Are you playing live or online?

In OTB, you knock over all of the pieces and storm out of the room. Here, you simply close the chess.com window on your browser.

I hope that was helpful!

No, you leave the browser open and leave.

Once or twice, my white flag/resign and draw button went missing. Couldn't figure it out why. I was playing a 30 minutes game against a stronger player and I was losing badly with 20 minutes left. With no way to resign, we both agreed that he needed to mate me to end game....of which he did. Of course with my help.
