How does life resemble chess?

Here are some I have come across: If you don't make a move, you lose by default. After the game, the king and the pawn go back to the same box. Every pawn is a queen, waiting to be realised. Even a pawn can take on a king. Add on if you want to!

I could easily make a reference to a Queen cutting down everyone in her path, especially since my mother has moved in :-D

But other than that, I'd have to say that utilizing strategy in the game keeps my mind fresh for my work as an animal trainer.
