An increment means that time is added to your clock after every move. For example, if you are playing with a 30 second increment, then you get 30 seconds added to your clock after every turn.
A delay means that you get a grace period of a certain amount of time on every move before your time starts running. For example, a 5 second delay means that the clock waits 5 seconds before it starts counting down.
To answer your questions, you can build up time with an increment, but not a delay. And G55 D5 means that each player has 55 minutes for the whole game, with a five second delay.
Hope this helped!

I know its game in 55 minutes and I know the 'd' means delay, as in the clock delays starting for 5 seconds. But what is the difference between delay and increment? Can you build up time with the delay?
I know how increments work, only because I posted here to ask a long time ago. So can someone help educate a guy who is apparently still a noob? Thanks
