How fast do ratings increase?

It's just a pretty standard learning curve producing diminishing returns. Nobody is going to be able to predict what your rating will be in a three months or a year, especially based upon the limited information that you've given. This is a silly thread.

I've been playing about the same amount of time and I've been playing live chess on here for about ten months with a blitz rating of 1418 or something. Granted, I haven't been playing much blitz lately. I think they say something like a 1500 rating is good enough to think about entering tournaments with a chance to at least win a game, so I'm shooting for that. To be intermediate. 500+ hours of tactics trainer and instructional videos has helped enormously. Diamond is worth it and a good book on strategy should help you get the fundamentals required to win end games and stuff like that. It's a tough world filled with a lot of big headed average (or less than) chess players. Good luck on your journey.
