This question has merely been asked out insatiable curiosity, and I have heard reports that Gauss was relatively good at chess, but exactly how good? Are there any videos recorded of him playing chess, at the very least?

GWTR, that was some droll wordplay, but it does state on the ChessManiac website that Gauss did play chess in his spare time. However, I believe he was not at competition level, though he might have had the potential to become so. After all, he had rather phenomenal mathematical aptitude.
