How long a tournament goes?

So if ever you want to join a tourney, make sure it is a no vacation tourney.  But then it still can take about 1-2 years to finish.  There are people who continue to play even when they dont have a chance to win except hope that their opponent lose on time. 

who is going to lose on time with 1 week per move?

I am playing in a tournament 7 days a move with vacations. Starting on Febuary 15th. I just won a first round game on time. I was 2 points ahead but he had me in a bind where he could force a draw with his Queen. He seems to have too many games going at the same time.

Being not a paid member I was wondering if this guy works for chess.com trying to get people to join so they could get into another tournament. Anyway I have another game with him. Hope to be done with the game before the year is over. :(

Almost every tournament will have a few players that will take the max time to move and drag out the round. Best to have many active tournaments going so you don't even notice if a few are delayed. Well worth premium membership to join unlimited tourneys if you into them.
