I beat level one without even knowing how the pieces move. You must be special.
How long did it take you to beat the computer on level 1?
Probably most players here were beginners before this site existed / before that engine or app existed.

I have the same background as you. I am in the same boat. Took me a good 20 attempts to get my first win. Since that just happened last week I have no idea if I can repeat it :)
Let's find what it takes! Having fun learning!

This was 20 or more years ago. 25, maybe 30.
Computers Were much weaker back then, though.
Saludos

Just in the last 24 hours I can now win about 50 % of the time. What I've changed is I scrutinize my moves more carefully. Just by playing slower I've improved quite a bit.

Personally, I signed up on this app knowing just the basics. I went through the beginner and intermediate lessons. To give you an idea of my level of experience, I knew what castling was, but did not know you could take a pawn en passé.
Took me about 20 games vs the computer on level 1 before I won. I'm normally a quick study, and this was surprising. I think my record now is like 4-35.
Just curious to see the learning curve of others and what things did you learn when you had that lightbulb moment and you started to crush level 1 consistently.
