he also makes a similar brag to that
How long does it take you to reach 2000?
it takes 1-3 months if you are interested in improving
Too slow brah, I think 12 days is enough if you're enthusiastic about improving

#48 You are that average adult who believe that chess is a game of intelligence. It's ABSOLUTELY NOT. Chess is more about practice, pattern recognition, analysing hundreds of positions, doing work on all aspects of the game. Kids are better in chess because they can pick things up very fast compared to an average adult.
Spacial reasoning and the ability to be able to imagine the chess pieces move in your mind is one of the major intelligences out there. It's not exclusively about intelligence but to deny the correlation is a bit short sighted IMO.

the key to becoming better at what you like is to become obsessed with it. I became quite proficient in spanish speaking in a month just off pure desire.
Hard to say. Maybe you had an exceptional coach that gets people to 2000 in six months on average and that would mean you were slower than normal. Most people don't have coaches so its an apples to oranges comparison to ask most people.

i taught myself, but i (and probably nobody) cant really improve past that point without a coach so i eventually gave up and every titled member on chess.com makes you pay money to play them or gatekeeps
i say this because there comes a certain point where both sides dont blunder or make mistakes. which forces you to find a way to break through and find a way to make the game dynamic and sharp which can be very hard if one side does not want that. Its just that as you get better winning chances are harder and harder as nobody is making blunders or missing tactics.

no, i go to random forums about peoples ratings and he says almost the exact same thing every time
Wouldn't you agree that he isn't bragging, just commenting appropriately if the forums are about rating? If he got to 1700 in 6 months, then good for him, he's not bragging, he's stating the fact of his progress.
I reached 2000 rating after 6 months of playing
