That would be interesting. I'd like to see a table or graph showing something along those lines. Unfortunately I don't actually know the statistics, sorry to disappoint.
Interesting numbers down at the bottom there. Does that show that white is preferable at the higher levels? It's possible. It depends on sample size and other variables. About how many games are there in the DB?
While browsing the Game Explorer, a question has appeared:
How long does these 1.3 million games last? I've heard the average game last around 40 moves. However, this is not what I'm interested in knowing. What I would like is a table showing the number of games ending after x number of moves, like this:
1 move - 0 games
2 moves - 0 games
3...
15 moves - 123456 games (this is not the actually number)
16 moves...
- and so on.
Does anyone have these numbers?
Thanks!
By the way, after a little calculation I can tell the ones who want to know that 66 % of the games in the Master Games Database ended with a win, 34 % with a draw. Of the games ending with a win (and not a draw), White won in 58 % of the cases, Black in 42 %.
