It's something I've heard them talk about, but everything seems to be in the context of, "after V# we'll focus on those things".

Given our current status, it is clear that we have to push off our estimate about the time-frame for public beta.
We want this to be a quality experience from the beginning, and we're working hard every day to ensure that's the case! Excellent progress has been made, and many of the new site's core features are 100% functional and undergoing internal quality-assurance testing.
Unfortunately, however, it is taking longer than anticipated to get the whole site ready for prime time - and we're sorry for setting the wrong expectations.
Our revised estimate for beta-readiness is this August. At the moment, I won't hazard a more specific estimate than that. It will be totally worth the wait! :)

I can wait because I don't think I'll like the changes. I'm talking about all the stuff they're going to do away with (pictures movies etc. etc.)... :(
