How mad do you get when you lose?
Hi ishaan how have you and disha been doing recently and I’ve had kind of a mental breakdown but not quite one recently but I’m a lot better now
Depends. 0 when I lose to someone good, 10 when I lose to a 1000-, 4 when I lose to you, Ojas, or Eric, 12 when I lose to my parents.
I'd say I'm around a 3.
I don't get mad. I'm a patient guy, for the most part. I might get a little annoyed if I lost because of a very obvious mistake that I shouldn't be making at this level, but I don't get mad. I've also found that I don't tilt very often (if at all), which supports my decision more.
Depends on a number of factors, like is there construction noise going on outside, door bell ringing, pc drivers have bugs, etc. If I played well vs an opponent who also played well,. then a score of one. If I played poorly making elementary errors, then a score of three.
If you want to enjoy chess you need to avoid anger and frustration when you lose. Enjoy the win and see if your opponent can teach you some tactic like taking your queen but sacrificing a bishop. Something like this...
Someone did this to me when I played the French.. Let's see if I can remember it...
It went something like that.
I'd say I'm around a 3.

I just got home from chess club. Im at my rating floor of 1600. I lost to a young man rated 1243. While no one likes to lose. It didnt ruin my night, I had fun, had a great time socializing with others, and will learn something from this game and experience. Its been a nice night.
Making my rating the most important thing and how I performed in tournaments caused me to walk away from the game for 6 years. Now that a rating isnt my #1 goal im enjoying chess again.
Mental Exercise.
Healthy Socialization.
Having Fun.
Being a good witness to others.
I have to say, I am a sore loser so urmming I will probably rage and keep playing until my rating go down by like 100
Depends on who I lose TO, and to a lesser extent HOW I lose. But the anger's nearly always directed at myself instead of the opponent.
If the opponent's showoffy or smug, I get furious at myself for validating it by giving them another win. 8 or 9.
If I lose by a decisive blunder so obvious that even I can see it, 7.
Most of the time, though, if it's a normal loss, it's about a 3 or 4, mild annoyance. Maybe reaching 6 if the loss was particularly slow and agonizing.
Though I have anger issues, I think the only time I can legitimately say I reached a 10 is when I lost to someone with a racial slur in their username in a much smaller place (I don't know why they weren't banned). That game felt unreasonably high-stakes, like I had a duty to win that one, and I blew it.
On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being happy and 10 being absolutely raging. Specifically on chess.com.
