How many moves?

Is the longest game you've played or know of?

trysts

I've played quite a few games between 75 and 100 moves. But I've noticed a strange thing: Once people find out I'm a girl(through chatting), they take a lot longer to resign. Seriously.

But the longest possible game, I've read, is 5949 moves!

Conquistador

I played a 266 move atomic game once.

I believe everything but the last sentence.

I haven't checked the vallidity of that last sentence, but here's the site I got it fromSmile

I suppose that would be the longest possible game that does not stumble on the 50 moves rule, otherwise it could be infinite in theory.

I agree. That site ought to show it's sourses.

I asked this question because I noticed my opponent had checkmated his opponent (Not me, but another) in 111 moves.

I had a 112 move OTB tourney game -- I had to claim the 50 move rule, the guy didn't let it go 'till the very end :)

i think this needs further study.  first you will need to play the same person and in one chat session tell them you are a girl and in the other tell them that you are a boy.  then you can see if they actually resign the "girl" game later than the "boy" game.  otherwise your observations do not meet the scientific requirements since there are two changing variables.

I know that if I played trysts I'd try to keep her chatting as long as possible.

Offer  her something to drink during the game, by the end she'll be too boozy to win even if all you have left is your king :p

Speaking of, I know something about trysts; as a child she was placed in a wicker basket, and floated down a river of gin.  Of course she couldn't drink anything, but the fumes stayed with her.  You've no chance; it's part of her.
