how much close is the chess.com rating and FIDE rating?

There is no real correlation between the 2.
However, that won't stop people from trying to say there is.

There's absolutely no correlation between reality and online virtuality. Your opponent might be using a customized engine online, making him play at the GM-level.
If you have (as I have) beaten somebody rated above 2000 OTB, that would be your true benchmark to follow.

u mean opponent using computer while playing...
Yes, he does. But this is not the real reason for the difference between the ratings. It has to do mostly with the skill level of the players in the pool.

I think chess.com uses USCF ratings, not FIDE ratings... (USCF is usually 100 points higher than FIDE) I think the ratings on this site are quite accurate.

USCF Ratings are for the United States Chess Federation. Has absolutely nothing to do with Chess.com

Chess.com has owners from USA, so they could have decided to implement FIDE or USCF ratings. I'm sure I've read somewhere that they use USCF ratings though.

No.
USCF ratigns are only for USCF sanctioned games. You cannot get or maintain an USCF rating by playing on Chess.com.
The Chess.com rating only applies to Chess.com.

Ok, I think you misinterpreted me. I meant that I think they are based around the USCF rating system, so that players of 1200 strength USCF will get a 1200 chess.com rating, and 2000 USCF will get a 2000 chess.com rating.
I know that you can't get a USCF rating from chess.com (except for the special USCF online rated tournaments). Most people on this site probably aren't even members of the USCF.
I don't mind what system chess.com uses. The things I look for in an online rating are that you can see your progress clearly, and you can roughly compare it to your OTB rating.
