how much do you like chess?
10. I guess I'm sort of addicted. Started less than a year ago at a rating of like 800 and now I'm way past 1500...
I can't stop playing and I'm constantly improving.
How much did you play before your retirement? Congratulations on retiring by the way - It takes a lifetime to get there, so enjoy it!
Before I retired I played very little Chess but after I discovered the website Chess.com I started playing a lot more Chess. My first two months on chess.com I played 1600 (10 minutes) Blitz games. Depending on how I feel and what's going on I have now slowed down to anywhere from 1 to 10 standard rated games a day. I'm trying to improve but I sometimes have good days sometimes have bad days. Chess is an awesome game and without a doubt the best boardgame in the world...
I'm inbetween 1 and 10, I really can't seem to make up my mind. I play igo (Or Go, Baduk in Korean) and really like it but I also want to play Chess. I'm having a hard time deciding which to focus more attention on.
Easily a 10! I'm looking forward to joining a local chess club soon and trying out tournament play for the first time. While I've played on and off for twenty years or so, I haven't taken it seriously until the past few months, and I'm finding myself more and more drawn to the game just about every day.
Do it for certain! Best combination a club that has lots of people you can make lasting relationships with that also hosts official tournaments you can use to test your playing strength.
