I was 21 years old when I started playing on April 11th of 2014.

Learning has been mostly a solitary experience but I have gotten some very good advice from a fellow I play chess with every other thursday.

I think I must have won a game for the first time either on April 11th or shortly after when I got into the 900s after the initial drop from 1200.

I have been trying and trying but the best I have done so far is second place on chess.com 15|10 tournaments.

I was 10 when I learned and played chess.

I taught my self (and I had some help from a friend)

I started winning ( 1st win at my first tournament ) against 800's ( USCF) witin 3 months and in 9 months I upsetted an 1850 ( USCF). My friend Rulergeorge helped me study chess.

My rating started at 400 USCF in 2012 (when I started) and now I'm 1800 USCF.

When you mean how long before I won my first tournament by 1st place, In one year I shared 1st and second place in a U1450 section and I won 300$

I won first palce in a scholastic Open Section, the whole tournament (which included 1600-1800's) last lear in Decemeber of 2013

I've been studing alot and it takes alot of work to be good at chess. I am currently 12 years old.

Good Luck with your chess!
