I started when I was 5
How old where you when you first started chess?

Chess for me, began seventy two years ago in 1951, when I was 13, on a boring foggy San Francisco summer day. Six friends and I got several chess books at the library and learned to move the pieces.
We used a red and black checker board and cheap plastic hollow pieces that always fell over all the time. They came in a forty game box. I am now 86 today my birthday. Still moving the chess pieces around . . .

Nine or ten, hard to remember now. It was nothing more knowing how the pieces move. Hell, that's about all i know now. Consistency is my thing. 🤣

When I was 3 years old we had a family desktop computer, and I used to play chess on it everyday. I remember experimenting with different moves and combinations in attempts to get the computer into playing into the traps I wanted it to fall into.
Man that's cool, when I first started playing chess, this was the first thing I did
