How to correct what my brain won't see?

I have one glaring issue that is really hindering my improvement. I cannot see back attacks. Usually a knight or bishop. If my opponent moves a knight or bishop to a square where the next move he can capture back towards his side of the board, my brain just won't register that. For whatever reason I can only see threats to my pieces coming towards me.

I would love to know how I can study for this and train my brain to start recognizing these threats so I stop losing pieces for no reason!

Thanks in advance!

You might need to assemble your own list of puzzles for this. You could try creating a list of links to your own games where you made these mistakes then use them as puzzles.

Ok, I will try and do that. Thanks.
