Play aggressive. Force them to actively play against you instead of them offering draws and win win situations. In conclusion just show you are not up for mercy and you are up for a competitive match of a game of chess.

when i say passive chess players i mean the type of chess players who have the rep of:
Exchange french,Exchange slav, Exchangecaro, Exchangequeens gambit
4 knights symmetrical
London
and these types of players will play very passively and try to exchange everything in a dry middlegame with no complications where they pray you mess up or blunder something so than all of a sudden they start doing something. If not you will go into a 90 move endgame where you draw. They will draw with you arguing that the +1 or +0 was worth getting after a hour of work in a drawn endgame and it "helps them get better at chess" by being non confronting and playing non confronting, typically drawn openings.
multiple times i have come to the blink of quitting chess forever due to this species of chess player, feeling like i will never have fun at chess again and that i should just quit, just to get thrown into a sicilian dragon where there's opposite castling and a big fight on both sides for one game that gives me a ounce of hope that i can have fun at chess again.
im tired of this repeating process what to i do?
