how to get better?

Blunder check before you move.
Think about your move, decide.
Do not play your intended move, but imagine it played on the board.
Then check it does not lose any piece or pawn, or runs into checkmate.
Only then play it.

I low-key just started chess one day from watching a Gotham chess video and it just clicked for me and I never took much time to learn it,and I just learn the more games I play. I bought a few chess books because I got stuck at 750 Elo. Just watch videos read books and just keep playing games. If you shoot a basketball 500 times you will learn from your mistakes and you be making them all by basket 300. So my suggestion is to just keep playing an eventually you will just learn from your mistakes. (I'm watching bubble guppies while I'm writing this lol)
