How to get better at bullet chess

I've been wondering how to get better at bullet (and hyperbullet) chess. I'm a really bad player, so I need help with getting higher ratings because I'm only like a 300. Can someone please help me?

At 300 it’s not ideal to start working on your bullet. Bullet requires a lot of work and time so I recommend you start building up your rapid until you get to a suitable level for your bullet to commence.

Play rapid first to learn chess foundation such as opening, tactics, etc, then after then learn about bullet chess.

It’s a very bad idea to try to get better at bullet if you are 500 in rapid. To play meaningful games in bullet, you necessarily need to be knowledgeable in:

opening principles and theory

all kinds of tactics

middlegame plans

endgame principles and theory

I hope you don’t think that Carlsen or Nakamura become themselves by playing bullet as beginners. Please study chess intensely and play slower games and leave bullet for much later, otherwise you will be very disappointed with your results.

Ok, thanks a lot!

I'd say it's better if you first improve on rapid, 15 to 30 min games, improve on theory, strategy, because blitz and bullet is more reflex based on what you already know before, you see 1e4 and already know the next 5 moves you gonna play

Bullet is like anything...practice makes perfect. However we must be careful not to rely on the clock...think fast and do your best to play sound chess.

The deeper you know any openings your bullet rating will go up. I try to practice all aspects of the game and bullet will scarcely help with endgame study so we must be conscious of that "issue".

Depends on how far you want to go in chess. If you just want to get really good at bullet, just play a ton of hyperbullet (30s), ultra bullet (15s) and bullet games. Play a ton puzzle streak/rush and get good with your mouse. I played a ton of hyperbullet games and gained a lot of elo in the 1minute pool because those 1minute players are much slower with their mouse.
This isn't very good for your chess though. If you're aiming for a title or just want to get really good in slower/real chess there isn't much point to playing bullet. You could argue you could just try to get good at both slow and bullet chess, but you'll probably just end up being mid at both of them unless you really try hard and put in the time.
