If you really want to increase your blitz rating... play the same opening, over and over and over. It's not a great strategy for helping your chess IQ, but it's a jerry-rigged way of increasing blitz rating.
When ya lose, look at the computer analysis - not the whole boring game, just where you blew it. Then play it again, and again and again. Eventually you won't have to "think", you'll have seen the position so many times you'll instinctively know what to do.
Worked for me. Though my chess IQ stinks. Double edged sword.
Typically I play much more accurate games when I have more time to think, but honestly it's so hard to play good moves when you only have 10-15 seconds to think!
