Of course chess players are continually looking for ways to improve their chess. In chess, as in life, there are no shortcuts to success. The sooner you realise that, the sooner you can get to work.
The first step to improving is to understand what you need to work on. General "public" advice may be useful but also may not be quite relevant to your unique situation.
The best way to determine what you need to work on is to review your own games. Games you played contain a wealth of information about you. Ideally a strong player (coach) should help you since they can quickly see what you need to work on. Alternatively you can also use an engine but that will not be as effective.
