Why not just try to get back above 1300 first? You never reached 1400 and were only above 1300 briefly. Try to stabilize above 1300.

Do you look at your losses? Your last one ended on a terrible blunder.  You should have easily won this position. A 1400 does not play Qd5 here.

I think us blitz addicts already know the answer, but we simply do not do it. Longer time controls. But don't just take my word for it...

To roughly quote IM Daniel Rensch:

"You should be playing longer games and taking the time to analyze it if you really want to get better. Otherwise, you're just pretending. That's just the cold-hard facts. So, if you're not a pretender, and you want to be a contender, you have to play games like this."

I disagree with all the people saying that you have to placlong time controls to improve. I made it to 2000 based almost solely on playing a ton of blitz games

How does a blitz player improves at chess? By stop playing blitz and starting to study & analyze. Of course you can just play tons of blitz and get better at it as you play, but your progress will probably be slow and just stop at some point.

No that is completely false. A blitz player improves by continuing to play blitz chess. This is much more efficient than playing longer time controls or studying

Don’t apply to me I’m above 2000 bullet

No, you're not. You still have only played one game. That means your 1972 rating based on that one game is less than accurate.

Only weak blitz players claim that playing long time controls is the best way to improve your chess

Keep working more and more on your tactics and you will easily get to 1400. Also learn the basic stuff in endgame.

No. Just play a bunch of blitz games. This is much better than studying endgame stuff that will probably never come up in an actual game

Hmm and now you have retired and mostly play players rated 1000 or below...

Yes notmtwain, You see that my blitz rating is 2000 while yours is less than 1500, so I think I’m more qualified to give advice on how to improve at blitz chess.

Beginners and post beginners must strictly refrain from playing blitz as blitz has a very detrimental effect on their chess

you need to have a proper training programme

1) tactics practice (20 puzzles a day)

2) basic chess strategy

3) basic endgame

4) improve your opening

This programme if done systemstically and daily will take you from 1400-1600 in less than six months.

Nonesense. The best way to improve is to play a lot of chess

best way is to win

I think your blitz rating will soon be back to 1200 where it belongs unless you just stop playing.

Extremely low rated players like yourself shouldn’t be giving advice to others on how to obtain a rating you yourself have never obtained.
