besides puzzle study, I have found that during a game, I find it useful to do what I like to refer to as a 'role call'. quite simply, you just go piece to piece (your opponents too, very important!) and quickly ask them, "hey buddy, what are you doing?". This sounds totally insane I know, but when you have physically adressed each piece, it is harder to have board blindness. It also helps me to find a plan at the board. When I get to the piece that responds 'Well, I'm not really sure what I'm doing", then I try and find a more useful role for my friend. A fair amount of the time, you are only as good as your weakest piece, so hold them all accountable!!

*Ahem*
Thanks for all your valuable advices. I tried the section vision and worked pretty well for me. Now I'm rising in the tactics trainer and lately went over 1300 with a 11 passing streak so far.
I'm also currently looking for the books mentioned in Cairo. They can't be found easily, though, because Chess interests very few people in Egypt. I might be buying them via web. Thank you all again!
