Sup fellas,

I have heard from many people that, when you are newer or are just starting out that you should watch old school GM games (Capablanca, Morphy, etc.) and my question is how do you actually learn from these guys' games?

What I mean is, what is the process for learning from these games?

Besides the immortal Capablanca, I suggest that Akiba Rubinstein is also a good master to study. Many of his best games have a Capablanca-like simplicity and clarity. Like Capa he was a great endgame player and was very good at converting small middlegame advantages into winning endgames.
