I've been stuck at 1600 for more than two months, but I am trying to become a National Master in three years. Can you please help me?

That's ambitious. I think you're underestimating how hard it is to get to NM but you will figure that out on your own.

Is the 1600 your otb rating?

Avatar of Road-to-GM-Title-1

No, it is my online rating. My OTB rating for uscf regular is 757.

I am super underrated.

Ah ok. It's technically possible, just be prepared for A LOT of hard work. It's good to be ambitious though.

I'd recommend getting the Yusupov book series. It's not free though.

Visit your local library. Check out the classic instruction books. A few weeks with Reinfeld’, Chernev, and Horowitz will be more helpful than 6 months of playing blitz against others at your level.

Who are Reinfeld, Chernev, and Horowitz

Avatar of mikewier

Fred Reinfeld, Irving Chernev, and I. A. Horowitz wrote many instructional books back in the 1950s and 1960s. They stand up today and, in my view, are still better than most of what has come after. They have been reprinted and so are still available.
