How to mate a king if he is in the mating trap!!!!

Hello Friends!! I want to improve my mating techniques.Sometime opposition king is going to be mated but sometimes not i.e. he won on time....Various times computer signify that mate can be occur in 9,10,11....moves but I can't done that mate perfectly. Please give me some advice on mating tricks!!!:):):):)
Learn end games and tactic. You need to learn to recognise patern. Trying going to chess tempo. You can practise 2 end games and unlimited tactic daily

Before you play a check look to see where the enemy King can run to. Once you have done that try to cut off his escape squares by placing your pieces where they need to be so when you do check the King he can't slip away.
