how to move a castling

Castling is a KING move, so you much touch the king first before touching the rook. That's the biggest mistake people make.
The king will move two spaces to either side. The rook on the side to which the king has moved will be placed in the space the king passed over.
In order to castle there are several conditions that must be met:
1) the King must not have moved at all.
2) the King must not be in check.
3) the King can not end the move in check.
4) the King can not pass over a check (the square the rook lands on can not be attacked).
5) the rook on the side that is being castled to must not have moved.
6) there may not be any intervening pieces between the rook and the king.
7) the starting rook square may be attacked when castling.
