How to play bots such as Komodo

in the past i have seen many players of varying strength, including GMs and average players, playing bots and the games show up in their game archive. here is an example -

however, if you go to the 'computer' tab and play the generic bot, the games don't show up in your archive, nor are they analyzable using the game review tab. does anyone know if these bots are something separate, or how to play them?

If you're on the website, running a Game Review will save the games against the bots to the archive. On Android you have to manually save them. On iOS, I'm not sure if it's possible to do  yet

I mean you could just go to the bot profile and challenge them manually by searching the username like https://www.chess.com/member/komodo1

i've tried this and they never accept the challenge

That doesn't work.

i've also seen that it is possible to challenge the bots to different time controls and even play them in live chess - titled players have done it and you can even spectate their games from the 'watch' tab. is that a feature available to only titled players or can anyone do it?

I'm not sure about that but I just know that bot play in Play isn't generally available. The Computer section can be played with some time controls using the Custom option and the Komodo level bots allow Game Reviews and saving.

Man, the one screenshot you take are my losses lol.

Green ticks look so much more presentable than those ugly red ones.
