But in most tournaments, the highest section is major and that requires 1900+ USCF. The under sections are usually like under 2100 and under 1800 or something

my peak is 1919 so that counts grin.png

don't be overconfident in your level (totally not pointing any fingers at anyone you know)

-_-

it is good to be overconfident and have faith in your self but you also need to have some sense of being paranoid always looking for your opponent's threat and how they can respond to your moves.

My otb was quite a lot higher than that. You simply can't play well constantly. I used to put 30 or more games together with a very high performance level but then you get busy, you get ill, you get tired or something comes up which you have to focus on. If you live and think nothing but chess, it probably doesn't happen so badly. If you live and think nothing but chess, you're a much poorer person as a result.

what you mean your otb was quite a lot higher than that i searched your profile up and your peak is 158...

I would advise not worrying about the clock too much and distractions around you. Focus on the game, and the position at hand--you should be good to go.

im 1935 uscf and i think best strategy to gain rating is to either always play up (for u like open or u2200) or you can move to California and get the rating here

I'm 1880 FIDE. But I can't stop winning everything. I went from 1424 to 1880 in 2 months. My advise is to win. It feels so good
