It's a matter of understanding that my frustration at losing stupidly is directly related to either my lack of concentration, my poor preparation, or both.

Golf can go either way. It's relaxing when you have a good round but there's nothing worse than spending 4 and a half hours zigzagging through trees in the rain when you know the round should take 3 hours.
As for bright colours, all Scotsmen play in bright tartan trousers than go to the knee with a matching bonnet. Everyone knows that.

It can also be relaxing, and fun, when you don't have a good round. I completely agree that slow rounds suck.
But, most that play it love the challenge of it, and one of the challenges is trying to figure out how to score when in the trees.
