Danny is also missing strong moves that later in the analyses he points them out and he could not belive how he missed that.
How to stop being a patzer?

But to add up, if you as you said have simular problem over and over again just stop playing chess for a week or month. Perfect time for that is now. When you reach simular position always first check for forcing moves/checks. Very strange 2000 at tactics, but 1300 blitz and 900 bullet. That is saying you have problem with time?
Yes, time is my issue. I've lost a lot of games on time where I had winning positions, probably it's majority of my losses.

Well than maybe you need more time?
If it takes you an hour than you use an hour until you see it.
No one is rushing you.
I have seen people who played 1 move every 1 year.
Doesn't matter what it takes. You find the best move.
Where is this game ? I would like to see it.

Yes, but in general his games have good quality. He can talk about something completely different and still play very well. This guy is genius.

Tactics mark is not worth anything real, for the simple reason that when solving a puzzle, you KNOW something is there- which is not the case in a real game.
Knowing something is there will not solve the puzzle itself, maybe some % lucky shoys. At 2000 level proves that he can calculate deep and accurate. Also i find that there are a lot of puzzles high rated that are simply capturing/recapturing free pieces, but people fail (sometimes me too) becouse they think that there is something more and that lower their rating.

I wish I had it.
It wasn't me who was doing it.
I had a chess buddy who said he had a game going for like 35 years.
Bascially Him and his Brother-in-law which was his sisters husband.
Didn't get along very well. So the way they handled there dispute so forth was to challenge each other to a chess game.
They only ever see each other during the holiday. There family gets together once every year around Thanksgiving. They have dinner as a family etc.
So they stay a few days or so make 1 move than leave until next year lol.
Which I thought was pretty kool.
Yeah they have had it going for quite some time lol.
My Friend moved away though. So I don't know how it turned out. I thought it was a pretty kool though.

Go to tactic trainer stats and see how much % you score on Mating nets/mate in 2-3 etc. If % is low and others high, then you should work on that.

I don't like spending a whole hour on moves like Qxg6.
You have answered your own question. Your problem is that you don't like spending time finding simple moves. So to improve you need to ask yourself - why not? Is it an ego thing - you think you should just be able to see them? Once you have accepted that you don't see them you may find it easier to spend more time trying to see them.

Not really so... and you can find even more extreme opinions than mine, e.g. FIDE Senior Trainer Grivas insists in his numerous trainer lectures that solving puzzles is actually rather a poor way to improve your playing strength.
I bet he is saying My lectures will improve you, right? It is the same that coaches are saying, don't play online you will not improve, dont take online lessons you will not improve, come here and pay me $$$ to teach you same stuff that is online :D People will say to you all kind of things to grab your money.. Just 15 min ago i saw thread IM is charging 5$ to join in simul while for example on lichess you can play vs GM/IM in blitz tours and some time agon NM hosting free simuls with streaming.
On Fide Online Arena you can play almost every day vs IM/GM/FM for free in simul/blitz challenges ofc if you subs for 1 year for low price (it was even free with promotion but ended)

Go to tactic trainer stats and see how much % you score on Mating nets/mate in 2-3 etc. If % is low and others high, then you should work on that.
I don't have premium membership anymore. And again it wasn't even about checkmate. 1. Rh7+ Kg8 2. Qxg6+ is enough. But as i said i didn't see Qxg6+ even when we played this - 1. exd Bd7(Yes, strange) 2. Rh7+ Kg8. And here I saw only Qe7. And after he resigned i saw Qg6+. Kind of blindness.

You will always be the patzer of someone much stronger than you...Freshly titled GM's are patzers in the eyes of world class 2700+ players...

I can spend an hour on it but isn't it retarded to see a move like Qxg6+ only after one hour? I don't have ego, I don't want to be retarded.
I've been called already retarded in this thread.

IM pfren, would you share what GM Grivas would consider to be a better training routine than solving puzzles, and why does he consider solving puzzles poor (or non-optimal) ?

I know right! There are USCF 1200 rated players who are like chess gods to those who never even studied the game while they're very easy for the 1500's...then IMs are usually trivial for Super-GMs, who can somethings make Carlsen feel challenged, but his 37 Elo point lead over the world's number 2 is secure for a reason.

I don't apply a judgment in the way that you do - especially not one as critical and offensive as 'retarded'. If it takes an hour to see it, it takes an hour. So what? It took me three days once to see the most obvious move ever. I have a hunch that if you try not to be so self-critical and accept your strengths and weaknesses as they are you may start to improve.

When will Carlsen write a book?
You need an organized study. Convekta has some good programs but optimization isn't that great. There are many tactics programs but CT-ART 5.0 has CT-ART 4.0 with Beginner and Mating Nets. Do beginner first, there are also packs you can buy that include things like simple defense. Many of the programs (especially the easiest ones) will feel pointless but bear with them, they will develop your board vision, intuition, and speed. Most of your time spent will be looking for your mouse cursor, especially if you go over a second!
After that do intermediate tactics, which will take longer, and work up to CT-ART 4.0. Calculation, board vision, and visualization must be worked. You'll also want to obtain a good positional foundation too. Understanding Pawn Play in Chess and My System should be good to start with. Chess Strategy for Club Players is also good.
I'm impressed how Danny Rensch plays bullet. He plays good moves instantly while talking. I know i need to do something about board visualization and i'm in the search of helful techniques. Thank for advise.
