We have to implement the "whack a mole" technique in these forums!Wink

learningthemoves

I love the whack a mole technique most times.

Head goes up, hammer comes down.

There's something very appropriate about it all.

I do like the idea of retaliating with messages like these:

If you only signed up in the last few years, you probably can't tell why the site could be useful. I suppose that GMs could stop writing books and just tell people to figure it out. Not everyone is as smart as doppelgangster though.

Must not work. You're still here.

I really like your informative posts about your scores.

LetsTravel seems to be another one who name pops up more and more on every puzzle.

If you really want to use a public forum for personal storage, I suggest you also add your credit card info and passwords. Why stop at just 100%?

Clearly this is spam. He seems intent on taking away any value the comment section once may have had. He even has a diamond membership just to do this thousands of times.
If you know him, and you are standing near the edge of a cliff. You know what you have to do. Don't hesitate. Just do it.

When will this site add a spam filter to get rid of the people that post 100% and other spam? Or have the owners abandoned this site all together?

There is only one solution. Obviously, Tactics Trainer must go!!

(And if that doesn't work, shut down Chess.com.  But we should try getting rid of Tactics Trainer first.)

CheesyPuns

you have done 16tactics and have been doing it for 6 minutes, what do you know?

chester6

YES!!  now that's what a tactics trainer comments should look like.

You can click the reset button you know. http://www.chess.com/tactics/settings

I've done thousands.

Why doesn't chess.com just fix the problem by letting us see our entire TT history?  I bet the lack of this feature has lead to Mr. C's comments.  He's not the only one who is using the comments system as a history tracker, BTW.

Personally I find plenty of other comments more annoying.  For example those remarking on how easy it was for them (yes, we know, you're god-like in your chess skills), or wondering about the problem's rating (it changes every day, no need to wonder), or why Kh2 wasn't better (look at the analysis board and/or copy/paste game into your favorite chess program).

That was changed last Wednesday.

I see zinchead still hasn't stopped being a retard.

So let's summarize:

Other people act in a way that you "don't do well" with, therefore your own inconsiderate behavior is OK.

The people calling you out also are allegedly inconsiderate, therefore your own inconsiderate behavior is OK.

Other people who were not called out are also inconsiderate, therefore your own inconsiderate behavior is OK.

Moderators have better things to do than police your inconsiderate-though-not-explicitly-prohibited behavior, therefore it's OK and not inconsiderate.

You pay money for chess.com, therefore you can be as inconsiderate as you want (even if that very type of jerky behavior is one of the things that makes people like me reluctant to pay for a membership - I'd rather just solve and comment on puzzles on chesstempo than have to sort through the narcissistic junk in chess.com TT comments).

Someone is "acting like a liberal", therefore you shouldn't have to do anything to change your inconsiderate behavior.

In short, it's all about you you you and justifying what you want to do without any consideration for others.

Frankly, I don't even have to see your comments, since I'm mostly solving puzzles in a different rating range. But regardless of whether I personally have to live with your comments: your behavior is inconsiderate. It fills people's notifications with self-serving scoreposting when they've turned on the notifications for substantive discussion of lines. You want to track your TT performance? Fire up a spreadsheet and track your stuff there, rather than spamming everyone else and making their experience here worse.

Oh, and everyone would have forgotten all about this thread had you not dredged it up after six months to go all LOOOOK AT MEEEE.

chester6

mb664, that covers most of it.  I would just add that he has chosen to ignore all the criticisms that were made in a perfectly polite manner.  Also, judging by his TT stats, this training strategy, in the way he has chosen to implement it, is not only inconsiderate, it is also ineffective.
