How to win almost every game in Daily chess [tutorial]

I joined a tournament [https://www.chess.com/club/matches/1276789] and found the solution.

Step1) Buy a chess.com membership so you are granted VACATION TIME

Step2) Join as much clubs as possible and accept as much as possible games. I recommend 2000+ games for best results.

Step3) Make a move in a few games, the others will be paused [Vacation]

Step4) Wait till your opponent is so annoyed, that she or he will quit the game or let the time run out.

That's how it looks like for your opponent:

My opponent in this tournament [https://www.chess.com/club/matches/1276789] is using this approach with great success. He moved once after I contacted him 9+ days ago, and did nothing since then, not even answering later messages. Here is a screenshot of a few games he won recently.

I think this is a great way to gain rating points and invite everyone to try it.

Good luck!

I play almost nothing but Daily, and have never used vacation time.

I guess that's cost me a couple of hundred rating points?

I don’t really get the “annoyed” part. Annoyed at what, exactly?

I play the games as they pop up, I am never even aware of opponents being on vacation or not. Not sure how I would even find out, frankly.

It’s more “What’s this? Oh I think I remember this game. What was I planning again? I should have left a note. Oh yeah, I think it was Bxh7+. Come on out, Mr King.

@blueemu

yah, I'm sure the points will roll in after a few months, don't forget to accept new games all the time

@ Ubik42 check his recent won games, 90%+ are won on time, with 0-20 moves mostly. Looks like many people here are "annoyed" or maybe helpless about this approach.

Try it, you'll see!

A lot of tournaments now are no vacation tournaments. u can pick just those to enter if u want. There's plenty of them.

@DreamscapeHorizons

I'm in about 11 tournaments at this point, I checked all, not a single one is a "no vacation" one.

DreamscapeHorizons

Maybe I'm seeing the no vacation ones because I'm specifically looking at over 1700 or 1800 ones. I didn't want open tournaments. I want to be one of the lower rated players.

Ubik42
@TNRL,maybe so, but I guess I don’t understand why anyone cares who is on vacation or how long the game takes. Is why it is a daily game.

If games are moving too slowly for someone, then add more games. What is the problem?
Ubik42
I currently keep about 10 games which usually gives me about 5 moves to make per day. How many moves/day is how I judge how busy I want to be with it, how quickly any one games resolved is irrelevant to me and I certainly don’t bother to keep track.

@Ubik42

Not far away from becoming a Monthly game.. XD

My opponent had 2474 games going 9+ days ago when I contacted him asking for a move, now it's 2537 games. He is not moving, winning game after game, because of this vacation issue and accepts even more games.

That's 70 new games, while people resigning/running out of time [I assume on purpose]. You can check his won games, all I saw are won on time by him with only a few moves played.

Chances are he never check mated someone. tongue.png

So OP - you are suggesting poor sportsmanship to gain rating points. Feeling good about yourself?

DreamscapeHorizons

I went and looked at the daily tournaments and noticed it's possible to seek only tournaments that have no vacation. Maybe when u play new ones u can pick those.

It’s a one size fits all policy. Why get your knickers tied up in a knot over a chess game? Always a few bad apples in the barrel. Move on. The OP thinks he’s being clever or something… setting example that is worse than the behavior described.

Additionally if you’re young and healthy, your opponent may drop dead before the critical moment of the game.

Winning games through time outs, proves nothing about your strength as a player .

indeed. I too am annoyed by those that use vacation time! But then, that's part of Chess life on THIS site. Soo technically, your Theory is abit skewed my friend. Taking on a 100 daily games is absurd to me. I play Daily because I have obligations beyond Chess but I just play for casual fix. I tend to use ALL my time needed in a complex position but I rarely took a vacation (unless I was traveling abroad and needed some time to establish a connection pre-Covid days of course)

najdorf96

probably Daily games aren't for you methinks. Just play Rapids or Blitz. I dunno. For me, I just like to play and playin's always the thing for me😉

MF972

Using the vacation mode excessively is bad sportsmanship and will you get your account closed and/or be banned from most clubs which usually discourage that.

Virtually all the daily tournaments I join are non-vacation tournaments, with around 100 games going on if someone is using vacation days to prolong a game I doubt I would even notice. The only time I was annoyed by a player was a game I had 3 connected pawn against a lone K. My plan advance the middle-most pawn to promotion leaving a pawn trailing behind in case I ever need a tempo. This plan everyone could see and could not be stopped by the strongest GM. But he/she kept moving every 23 1/2 hours I would get a move (yep 23 1/2 hours). With both of us playing at the 99% level and it being a daily game, stalemate was silly to consider, conditional move (sent when there was only 1 possible move) went ignored in favor of the 23 1/2 hours mentioned earlier. After promoting I worked him into a “mate in 4.” Sure enough he did not resign he simply timed-out. But Waite there is more since this was game 1 of a 2 game set after timing-out of game 1 he sent the first move of the next game. Yes I was annoyed,
