You must be disruptive and throw your opponent off balance. If it's someone you play often you can see their tendencies. Some favor their knights over their bishops prefer playing blacks rather than white... prefer to play the kings pawn every time.... You play the man not the board.... you must attack in 2 3 or 4 piece combinations which forces them to make a "bad move" at least once during the game...maybe this is all you need to win the game

Ofcourse, it's philosphical... Chess as a metaphore for life in general. Always make the right choice and you'll never end up having problems. If it only were that simple!
