you don't need a photographic memory for chess and i don't think there is a way to gain a photographic memory. There is no need to know deep theory for openings at your level. knowing the main ideas and what the plans are for both sides are enough to get you to 2000

By playing as much often and trying not to get yourself under pressure. When you have a heart for something you tend to remember it at ease
Anyone have any ideas? For openings, etc.
