LMAO. No it isn't. You're just terrible at blitz. 1700 standard ~1500 blitz.
Hyper inflation in Standard rating

Blitz isn't just about coming up with the best moves. Not enough time for that. It's about coming up with generally solid moves fast and playing the hell out of clock. Very different strategy/modality than standard. You also need strong quick tactics and 'dirty tricks' and cheap shots, and know how to spot them when your opponent plays them allegro and/or staccato in realtime, so there's even an endurance factor and learning to work under time pressure.
I much prefer blitz over standard, because I like the thrill, thinking on my feet, and that I can get several games in in a short period of time. Even while waiting in the car or waiting room or restaurant. I stopped playing standard years ago. But I'm under no illusion that the objective timeless quality of my games and moves has gone way down and I can see why so many admonish that blitz is corrosive to superb strategy. But it does make you think quicker and learn new ways of approaching the game. And I'm gradually improving in blitz just from practice.
I say that at this moment of time when I'm out of my rut/losing streak and my 5 minute blitz ELO is 1261 (and climbing?). My blitz rating does fluctuate. Other week I was down closer to 1100, maybe even below for a short stint.
its almost 800+ more points than blitz rating too much bubble. adjust needed.
