classical all the way yo. thats how all the grandmasters played and thats how they will keep playing until the end of chess time. especially since bobby fisher said the most famous of quotes, "E4 I win!!". now thats classic.

i agree with matthiassmall.
I prefer to keep an open mind regarding my style of play depending on the situation at hand. I almost always open with e4 as white, but if the position steers into one where a fianchetto would benefit me I will play the fianchetto. If I know my opponent hates hypermodern openings I might play one just to have the one up from the start.
classic 1.e4 with white
the indian defences and the sicilian with black....
actually a mix of the hypermodern and the classic depending on the mood...
classic 1/2 - hypermordern 1/2 for me.
The same here, I play classical queens gambit with white and kings indian (a great opening) with black. I though feel more secure with black and the hypermodern openings, I currently consider KIA with white.

I prefer hypermodem over classical
I myself prefer to push my opponents into strange territory, avoiding heavy theory.
I hardly ever play e4 unless I'm playing a friend and even then I usually stay away from it...
my favorite opening has always been Nc3 but i usually open with Nf3 for some weird reason haha!
