I Accidentally Played The Caro-Kann?

At the time of posting this, my rating is 1003. Terrible, I know, but I'm just glad to be above 4 digits. When you're rated as low as I am, you get a lot of the same games. Sicilians, Ruy Lopez, Queens Indian, the Spanish, and the occasional Philidor. 90% of the games I play are 5 minute blitz games, because I like the pace and the games end quickly. But this combination of rating, format, and overall lack of book knowledge can sometimes put me in a position where the opponent plays a "non-conventional" opening and I'm suddenly stuck staring at the clock as I try to figure out what the hell is going on.

Today, I was playing as black, and my opponent, roughly 200 points higher rated than myself, started 1. C4... which I now understand to be The English, but at the time, it was new to me. I responded with e5, figuring that since I had no idea what kind of opening this was, I could try to push d6, trade the center pawns, get my knight out on c6 and just pretend I was playing the Scotch (kinda) as white, but with black pieces because if nothing else, it's familiar.

So that's the background story of how I stumbled into playing the Caro-Kann and the Slav for the first time ever. Made some mistakes here and there, but the opening went pretty well despite playing the position over the board in blitz. For whatever reason, the opponent resigned with about 2 minutes left on his clock in a seemingly even game, which is a shame because the game was really fun for a while. The game in question follows

No real point to this post other than I thought it was interesting how I wound up in a main line that I new nothing about. Thought I'd share the game.
