I am a chess noob!

I'm a really bad chess player, so I decided to come to this site to see if it can help me. The only problem is, the Chess mentor is too hard for my level of chess, and 3 tactics per day isn't enough for me Frown.

So does anyone know any other good site that can teach me good strategies at a beginner level? I know how to play, and that, but i'm not good at all. I have tried google, but so far I have found nothing good exept for this site.

You might find this site useful.

Step up to the plate and start playing.

Unlike a lot of folks who come to this site thinking they're hot stuff because they can beat all their friends, only to find out there's a whole different level of chess, you've come with a modest attitude.

Don't worry if you get wiped out your first few games.  Dealing with adversity and mental toughness is a part of the game, too.  Plus you'll be amazed at how much you learn from every game, especially the losses.

Alright. Thank you all for your support and help.

@sstteevveenn
The link that you sent me was slightly good, but was more of a quiz then a trainer, so it wasn't much help. But thank you anyways!

@PerfectGent
GuideNotes? Where do I access them? They sound good.

Anyways, is there a place in the site where you can play people around your "rating" level or something? I think that would help a lot, because I don't want to play random people that are 10x better than me.

So thanks again for your support, I'll continue searching for tips and tricks on chess.

Post some challenges with settings that are more in your rating range.

Also, if you play against higher-rated players, if you ask them nicely, chances are they will help you analyze your match later on.

Regardless, the more you play = the more you learn = the more you grow as a chess player.

Also, back when I was starting out playing chess, I was fortunate enough to have had a good friend of mine who also enjoyed playing chess. He and I played chess all the time and we both grew from those experiences. Unfortunately, he took a different path in life, and we both went our separate ways...

But I digress, it's always good to make and play against friends in chess because together you grow from your experiences.

I hope that helps.

Books are an option, and there a dozens of excellent tactics apps for mobile devices.

Free tactics on lichess.com......learning tactics provides the building blocks of good chess. Learn some tactics (pins, skewers, forks) and store them in your chess toolbox.
