That is completely fair. Thanks for the feedback. I've just never gotten the feeling that existing tools are very helpful. It is actually very, very hard to create something useful in this space.
But, curious, if there is a tool that does this well already, would be very interested to try it out. Any examples you guys could give about these tools?
I don't know whether this is similar to OhNoMyChess, which was announced in another thread in March, but I'd like to test it anyway. (I haven't tested OnNoMyChess.)
Hey all,
I've been working on a side project called shagent and I'd love some people to kick the tires on it.
What it does:It connects to your Chess.com (or Lichess) account, pulls your recent games, runs them through Stockfish, and builds a short daily training session from your actual mistakes — not random puzzles.
Each session has three parts:
- Guess the Move — you replay a critical position from one of your recent games and try to find what you should have played
- Classify the mistake — you see a position where you went wrong and categorize how bad the mistake was (inaccuracy, mistake or blunder)
- Puzzles — generated from the tactical patterns that show up most in your games
Why I built it:I play a lot of blitz and kept noticing I was making the same types of mistakes over and over. Generic puzzle sets didn't help much. This tries to target the exact patterns in your own play.
What I'm looking for:Honest feedback. Does it feel useful? Is anything confusing, broken or missing?
DM me or reply here and I'll send you code to register. I'm planning to open it up for free, keeping it this way for now until it makes sense and is useful.
