I can understand some delay, but this is ridiculous.

I regularly check for new chess books on Amazon, and a few months ago I saw a pre-order available for a upcoming hardcover edition of "Bobby Fischer: My 60 Memorable Games".  If you search you will find it.  It has a dark blue cover and gold lettering.  It was originally set to be released on November 15, nicely timed before the holiday season.  I was seriously thinking of ordering one for myself and another as a gift for my brother.

This week you can no longer pre-order the book, and the release date has been pushed back...WAYYY BACK.  To February.  No, not February 2024, but February 2025!  That is a year and 4 month away.  We are talking about a reprint of a book that already exists, and is simply an edition with a different cover.  It is supposed to be a hardcover edition of the Soltis one with the brown cover, so it is already engine checked, some new analysis, etc.  I can't understand why it should be pushed back so far.  It can't be a copyright issue, as it is being published by the same company (Batsford).  I feel sorry for anyone that put in a pre-order for this book, and I hope they are able to get a refund.

I found the digital version

Doesn't help if you want a physical hardcover edition, in particular this one wink

I have a paperback copy, though not one you might recognize. I really wanted a nice hardcover edition, one for myself but also one to give my brother as a gift for Christmas this year. That will definitely not be happening this year at least. I will just have to find him something different.
