I challenge chess.com to a best of 7 match. Score is now 1-0

Team RYBKA.com......er.....ah...team chess.com has managed to BULLY its way to a 1-0 lead. I am politely asking that the members of this site SHOW SOME GUTS and proceed on with this match. You got the bragging rights for strong-arming me into RESIGNING or else I get my account wiped. SLIMEBALL tactics, but you got a mark in the win column and I got a GOOSE EGG. Boo hoo hoo. You don't see me fading away do you?!! You don't see me making excuses. I WAS outplayed. I admit it.

STEP UP TO THE PLATE chess.com. Set up another game. Stick with the 24 hour per move game until the logistics of an all day game can be worked out. Give me White this time. PROVE TO ME THAT YOU CAN DELIVER A DECISIVE WIN. You have not yet proved that.

I humbly ask for a best of 7 match. I am down 0-1. We have not rewritten any of my program, but have tweaked a few of the settings that will seek to exploit the playing style of Rybka.

SET UP THE DAMN BOARD!!!!!

Why don't you just go crawl under a rock and disappear!

It shouldn't be that anyone who screams loud enough gets what he wants. You got erik as far as setting up a match, but that was only to beat you and make you admit you're not god. That game took place, you got your few months of Chess.com celebrity status, and you lost. Now there's no reason to give you another game.

And why don't you just get a life? Surely you can't impress God when you get to heaven (should you get there) and tell him "I spent my whole life beating up arrogant chess players with cheating!".

*yawn* how about no?

You don't see me fading away do you?!!

Actually, yes I do.

I haven't been a member long enough to know what's going on but why not play him again. It's all in good fun anyway.

UndecidedNow let's hold up a second. I haven't participated in the vote chess game or anything, but I have followed some of these fourms just because it's too irresistable. We have established these facts:

1. Cheater_1 needs a life.

2. Cheater_1 lost the vote chess game.

3. This loss may or may not have been genuine.

4. Cheater_1 has made a pompous fool out of himself.

5. Despite the above four facts, the people of chess.com could be a little bit nicer. Does it really hurt anybody if there's a match?

I don't know why I've even bothered to post all this, I just feel as though I'm somewhat bipartisan in this issue. I think that Cheater_1 should keep his account, and that people should CONSIDER having a match, even if they decide not to. Undecided

Cheater_1's continued presence promotes both the idea of cheating and the idea of trolling simultaneously. All of the staff admins have been absolute saints regarding the terms of agreement and haven't banned him, but from here on out, he will not be accorded the kind of welcome we once allowed him.

Go back to the earliest threads to reaquaint yourself with his brand of idiocy. He likes to stir the pot, sure, but the pot stirs back. His run is at an end. The prevailing attitude of permissiveness has died.

Erik demonstrates his class as web administrator by not banning the cheater outright - something I can't imagine being capable of, and which continues to impress me.

The only reason I can figure is Erik understands that this no good cheater will die out under his own steam - Erik is giving him rope, as it were.

He is no more deserving of another vote chess game than any of us armed with even Chessmaster at full strength.

That is what is wrong with continuing to gratify him. Let him be met with nothing but derision for what it is he represents - the very attitude of contempt and unsportsmanlike behavior.

Let Chess.com be a place where cheating is seen as reprehensible.

Good idea, but I think this should've ended at the vote game.  Cheater, you asked for a game, and lost it.  You say you wrote the engine you played, so why not publicize it, market it, develop it?  You don't have to waste time beating internet chess players if you can write your own engine.

No,no ended. He deserve rematch, now with white pieces play.Curentlly result is 1:0 for Chess.com.He must won to stay on chess.com,if he lose or draw he will be banned.I think it would be fair for all.

He just likes to stir up controversy.  I am sure that the NCAA Mens Basketball Championship allows losing teams to set up a best of seven series afterwards?  They do not.  So why shouldn't it be the same?

"He likes to stir the pot, sure, but the pot stirs back. " Ooo, I like that, very clever.

"Team RYBKA.com......er.....ah...team chess.com" And what were you usng for the game. Wait! Don't tell me, let me guess... The greatest chess computer in the world that you crafted yourself from the tears of the last living Elephant in Namibia which you then killed, and the soul of Bill Gates which you won from the devil during a Poker game.

"PROVE TO ME THAT YOU CAN DELIVER A DECISIVE WIN." Is there any other kind of win? Or am I simply mistaken, maybe we didn't really win and you resigned out of the goodness of your heart.

OK, shoot off session over, everyone wipe away the tears and we can get on with the rational discussion. I think we should continue the match, but only three games, that's enough, 7 is way too excesive and he coses it only because it will diminish our current lead. Cheater makes an excellent point in saying that a single win is not conclusive, even Kasparov didn't win every game... OK, bad comparison, more appropriate would probably be... Even Fischer wasn't an %$!hole every time he spoke.

Intellexual

I don't see any legitimate basis for persons to negatively regard cheater_1. There's two things which seem to be going on:

1) It seems popular to dislike his manner of expressing himself.
2) It seems accepted to demean and/or disregard the positive aspects of him (or his persona).

I find the social, emotional, and political posturing to be despicable and pompous. I don't know or regard cheater_1. It amuses me that people who may have been  (or still are) misunderstood, underappreciated, and shunned (even for enjoying Chess) are willing to jump on this individual's case as though he's the face of evil you've all be looking for your entire lives.

It's passive aggressive, cowardly, and hypocritical. Let the persona or person do what he does. You folks have put a spotlight on him because you dislike or seek to ridicule him. In all that infamy, he has become something of an anti-hero. If you dislike that, shame on you for giving him so much attention (even if you figured it to be at his expense).

Now that he seeks to capitalize from the widespread notoriety, folks are resistant. If you didn't want to acknowledge the figure he has become, you shouldn't have ever regarded or indulged him. At this point, it's sheer cowardice and hypocrisy to attempt to disregard him.

I don't like or dislike cheater_1. For the cowards who have decided to jump on the bandwagon and have feelings toward him (without any merit), fake it until you make it. You disgust me far more than he ever could.

I'm not his buddy, I don't "know" him nor any of you, and I surely am not him. The bandwagon mob on Chess.com is felonious and I don't believe this spectacle is a "good look" for the site or its membership. I'm ashamed of the passive aggressive cowards who use cheater_1 to work out the legitimate frustrations or wrongs against them which they're too frail to handle elsewhere.

Even the "he needs to get a life" argument is flagrant hypocrisy. Further, if you believe him to be a miserable fool, of his own making or otherwise, ponder why you folks indulge him. Indeed. Cowards.

I'd wager he isn't the only cheater here. If I've been bested by someone who resorts to cheating, it doesn't change how much I'm able to grow and enjoy myself. There is no real stakes in a win, loss, or draw herein. I laugh aloud a bit and shake my head in dismay.

I didn't play in the vote chess game simply cuz i didn't have a computer system to aid me.. but I was interested enough to follow the progress of the game and reading the comments

I was tempted not to post at all and not even respond to his posts.. but I think an argument should be made against playing him again..

Listening to his tone and attitute he's just trying to BULLY (in his own words) chess.com to a rematch.. playing what he refers to as "mind" games.. agreeing to a rematch would simply be playing into his hands

I think its time chess.com moved on... he's had his moment of limelight.. the rest of the world can carry on playing real chess without a computer..

The majority of people actually have lives to lead apart from chasing after a guy with a computer who think's he's a chess god.. (demi god now i suppose that he's lost a game = P)

7 games? cheater has already wasted hours of "real" games (distributed across all the vote chess participants) that the participants could have played..  i doubt that he deserves more

During the game.. he refused a future rematch unless they were on his own terms on serveral occasions.. and now he comes knocking on the door begging to equalise on his conditions? something somewhere doesn't feel right

Even if he does play another game.. chances are that many of the players in the original game are sick and tired of him and as the games go on these players will begin to drop out. another unfair prospect.. in this case both for him and chess.com.. if only because the quality of play on the chess.com side would start to slide

If i were to request a vote chess game against the rest of chess.com.. i doubt erik would comply.. what has cheater done to deserve such an honor?

 my two cent's worth = )

Cheers!
